1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. This Cookie Policy explains how the ASEAN Institute Cambodia Intelligence Platform ("Platform") uses cookies, local storage, and session storage. This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read in conjunction with it.
2. Cookies We Use
The following table lists every cookie set by the Platform, its purpose, duration, and legal basis under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive:
| Cookie Name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Legal Basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
session_token | Strictly Necessary | JWT-based authentication cookie set after successful Manus OAuth login. Maintains your authenticated session across page navigations and browser tabs. | 30 days | Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); no consent required per ePrivacy Art. 5(3) |
cookie_consent | Strictly Necessary | Records your cookie consent preferences so we do not repeatedly prompt you. | 12 months | Legitimate Interest; no consent required |
3. Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, the Platform uses browser local storage and session storage for functional purposes. These storage mechanisms operate similarly to cookies but are not transmitted with HTTP requests:
| Key | Storage Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
mppt_user_id | Local Storage | Persistent identifier linking your MPPT Deep Analysis jobs and decisions to your account. Generated from your authenticated user ID. | Persistent until cleared |
mppt_session_id | Local Storage | Session identifier for the MPPT analysis system, used to group related analysis jobs and maintain context within the Decision Agent. | Persistent until cleared |
theme | Local Storage | Stores your selected visual theme preference (light/dark mode). | Persistent until cleared |
accessibility_* | Local Storage | Stores accessibility preferences including font size, contrast mode, and reduced motion settings configured through the Accessibility panel. | Persistent until cleared |
guided_tour_* | Local Storage | Tracks whether you have completed the guided tour to avoid showing it again. | Persistent until cleared |
4. Analytics
The Platform uses Manus Analytics to collect aggregate usage data, including pages visited, session duration, and feature interaction events. Manus Analytics operates through script-based event collection and may set the following identifiers:
| Identifier | Purpose | Duration | Legal Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manus Analytics session ID | Distinguishes unique visits for aggregate page view and session counting. Does not track users across websites. | Session-scoped | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) |
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not serve third-party advertisements on the Platform and do not participate in advertising networks.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You can control cookies and local storage through the following methods:
| Method | Scope | Instructions |
|---|---|---|
| Browser Cookie Settings | All cookies | Access your browser's Privacy or Security settings to block, delete, or manage cookies. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions. |
| Browser Developer Tools | Local Storage / Session Storage | Open Developer Tools (F12), navigate to the Application or Storage tab, and clear specific local storage or session storage entries. |
| Clear All Site Data | All storage | Use your browser's "Clear browsing data" function and select "Cookies and site data" to remove all Platform-related storage. |
Disabling strictly necessary cookies (specifically session_token) will prevent you from logging in and accessing authenticated features, including the MPPT Deep Analysis system, Decision Agent, and your saved decisions and job history.
6. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. As there is no universally accepted standard for interpreting DNT signals, the Platform does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals. If a uniform standard is adopted, we will review and update this Policy accordingly.
7. GDPR and ePrivacy Compliance
For users located in the European Economic Area, our use of cookies and similar technologies complies with the General Data Protection Regulation and the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC). Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent as permitted under ePrivacy Article 5(3). Non-essential cookies and analytics identifiers require your affirmative consent before activation. You may withdraw consent at any time through the methods described in Section 5, without affecting the lawfulness of processing performed prior to withdrawal.
8. CCPA Compliance
For California residents: We do not sell personal information collected through cookies or local storage. We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know what personal information is collected through these technologies and to request its deletion, subject to applicable exceptions under the California Consumer Privacy Act. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated through a prominent notice on the Platform at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect.
10. Contact Information
